Natty Rush Blue Frostbite: Sonic and Megaman are a match

Natty Rush Blue Frostbite is not as great as the watermelon flavor. That doesn't mean it's not good or I didn't enjoy it. I just find that the watermelon flavor is sweeter.

Blue Frostbite is blueberry flavor that tastes like it has too much syrup. The beer is blue that stains everything. Blue Frostbite is misleading because I was expecting the Gatorade flavor Cool Blue.

Was not difficult to chug the tall can at all. I had watermelon first then blueberry. The watermelon may be affecting my judgement. Not sure. Will have to do another test.
Not bad. I guess.

Sonic the Hedgehog

The first game that comes to mind that pairs with Blue Frostbite is Sonic. Sonic 2 to be exact. The superior Sonic title. Released worldwide November 1992, I didn't play for years later. I was young when I first experienced Sonic. Everything about it captivated me.

Gameplay is phenomenal. At the time it took platforming to the next level because of Sonic's speed. That one mechanic is what makes the game. Mario had different power-ups, but Sonic had his signature speed. If done right, you can blast through the levels.

Speaking of levels, each one felt unique although they were all linear. The water levels were not bad either. I'm not a fan of water levels. I understand they offer the player a mix up since they are played different, I just never liked controls underwater.
Next to Metal Sonic, he's my favorite.

What makes Sonic different is you do not have unlimited time underwater. People that have played before know what I'm talking. When you go underwater for too long a timer starts and the music changes. If you do not surface soon or find an air bubble underwater, you'll suffer an anxiety attack from panic because Sonic starts to suffocate. You will feel a real sense of urgency. Surefire way to scare the hell out a six-year-old. Trust me.

Sonic 2 has one of the greatest soundtracks of all time. Don't believe me? Well, you're wrong. Go back and listen to it. Tell me I'm wrong. It won't be easy to do. The music was composed by Masato Nakamaru, who also did the first game. Such an amazing job. The final stage track with Dr. Robotnik (Eggman) sounds evil. He composed a song that fits the stage and boss perfectly. If you listen closely it sounds like Masato used the sound of the bumpers in the soundtrack.

Megaman aka The Blue Bomber

I owned a 1989 Acura Integra named the Blue Bomber after none other than the boy, not man, Megaman. I see Megaman as a child not adult. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is the main reason for that along with the anime style of the X series. Megaman is the second game that comes to mind to pair with your Blue Frostbite. The X series in particular.

When I think of Megaman I think of un-fucking-forgivable. Seriously, do they have to be so difficult? The NES has some of the most frustrating Megaman titles that piss me off.

Although difficult, I'm a huge fan of the X series. Art design is anime AF. Love it. Reminds me of older anime with lots of detail and charm. Feels like the style of both anime and Western cartoons currently has been less detailed and thrown together last second. That's another post altogether.

Box art as usual doesn't match game.
Normally I like a challenge. With the X series I get that. Gameplay is no different with the X series as previous installments. Beat the stages that have even more difficult bosses at the end. There are better routes to take when challenging the stages for each boss’s power-up. I never bothered to learn them. Each boss has a power-up that best beats another. Again, I just went guns blazing.

Each level is linear like almost all platformers. Your reflexes will be tested. Minor miscalculations will be costly. Final bosses are even tougher. As mentioned earlier, certain power-ups work best against bosses. Your main weapon can do the job, but the corresponding power-up makes work easier.

Soundtracks for the X series is generic. Personally, nothing sticks out or with me. Sorry to those that can name each stage by hearing snippets of the music.

Worth trying

Try Blue Frostbite. It's only $2 for a cheap buzz. Just because I like another flavor more than this one doesn't mean you will too. Blueberry may be your favorite flavor. If you do try it, be sure to play either Sonic or Megaman. Any title from their series works, I prefer the ones I named though. Also, for the record, Zero is way cooler than Megaman.

Enjoy your drinks and game on.
